Congratulation to 9years and Vayumahesh. Thank you both for documenting your journey. My EB2 perm was applied from the new company i have joined and it is approved this month. Hopefully i should be applying for I-140 next month.
I have applied my 485 in July 07 but i was not married at that time. I am married now and my my wife is on H1B. When should i add her or amend my I-485.

When you become current and before you get your GC approval notice, you should file 485 for your wife.

I just got a response today from my employer that my labor has been approved today :D under EB3. It was applied on March 29 & approved today (May 25) its just shy of 2 months.
Congrats! That is encouraging to hear. My EB2 was filed on Apr 19, so hopefully will take another month...

Thanks sy. I fully agree it's the agent we deal with. My BOA loan coordinator is extremely stubborn & doesn't have any clue regarding immigration. From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. I think we will see a renewed activity on IV forums in 2009. I still believe visa recapture bill like HR5882 has a good chance of getting passed. It may not get passed in this congress considering how few working days are left and presidential elections in November. But in 2009 the bill should gain new momentum with new congress and new president in office.
Also, by that time EB2 dates will be again retrogressed and those impatiently waiting for their approvals today will be back to support new action items. Please don't take this as spiteful wish against EB2, I'm EB2 myself! Just that I don't think everyone who is current now will get their GC before October 2008. For once I would be overjoyed if I'm wrong on this one :)
True, once the people realize that they are close to GC they forget all tasks and move on to the other forums (R2I or USC or whatever) there are very few who actually stay on and help add this to the fact that most of the EB3-I's got fed up with the nonsense going on (most were only looking for a sounding board to voice their dismay, instead they were reminded of the caste system). So EB2's stop working because their PD is current and EBs stop because there is little hope/chance/help. We can dissect the VB as much as we want, the fact of the matter is that EB3 as a whole and EB3 (india &China) in particular are screwed big time. There is hope in the Logfren bills but the congress seems to have other 'important' issues to discuss.
We should take the campaign to a new level move from individuals to involving groups and compaines. They have more money and power to make things move. EB3 & EB2 discussions will go on for ever, we can either decide to wallow in our sorrow or do something. Lets identify groups who can help us and write to them. Each EB should talk to his/her HR and ask them to write a letter to their congressman/Senator it will have a bigger impact.

When they can process 18K 485 in a day and 60K in a month, then these EADs and APs are miniscule for their efficiency. Ohh god, forgot to mention that too they worked on weekend. So they are ready for weekend work if required. So look at the below calc.
Yes, realistically, the estimated apps are 750K considering 500K primary and 250 dependents. This is can go up if the dependends increase. So assume a million in worst case scenario.
18K 485 a day = 50K EAD / AP a day.
Hence
50K EAD/AP in one day = 50K * 30 = 1500K in a month. So it would only 20 days to get your EAD / AP even if million people apply. Hmm let them not work on weekends now.

180K EAD / month = 5 months
Above is worst case scenario with 1million apps. So dont worry, you should be getting your EAD faster now than before.

Yes I like the idea of donor for paid members. There are 31000 members not even 2500 members are contributing. This is one way of making them pay for the services or the info you get from the forum.
Actual ball park is 300-350 members, who actually come forward for all campaigns and contribute, and around 50 one-timers.

Girish - CIR was meant to help the illegals not us folk. I hope we never have to see CIR again . It would just mean millions more ahead in line whereas we who have been waiting for years will be sent to the dustbin.:mad:

I have a question here. If this bill becomes law in its current form what happens to those I-140 filed on May 15, 2007 itself. Can they saty in old system or they have to go to the new system ? I looked into AILA interpretation but its not clear about those are filed on May 15, 2007 itself.
