What about the issues like not following RD or PD?
What about being rude on the call?
What about the wild fluctuation in the bulletein?
Should we let these thing to continue?
What we are expecting after this calc. camp ? I dont think so they will revise bulletin nor they will give single extra visa above 140k. I think we should focus on HR 5882 .. We should send something to lawmakers.

This thread falls off the radar so quickly and other threads with EAD, AP, H-1B etc. keep popping up every second. I know all those things are important as well but if you pause and think about the big picture, this funding drive is very important as well. So, please buck up and contribute! :)

In months of June, Jul and Aug , many EADs & APs are up for renewal due to July07 fiasco. So by moving dates forward, USCIS can cash in lot of reveue as it has to issue only 1 yr EAD in that case. If the dates are not current, they will have to issue 2 yr EAD and although they dont mean to approve many cases, I tend to think they will keep moving dates forward.

It is so true. BEC victims are now I-140 backlog victims. It might help if IV can campaign for I-140 premium processing for BEC backlog victims. Ours is EB2 2003 from PBEC. LC process took 4 years. We are still waiting for I-140 to be approved while they are approving GCs for 2006 filers. It is absolutely unfair game by USCIS.

I hope in the visa statistics for the year 2008 they don't come up with a report saying that 20,000 visas were lost as they were unused :D.

Visa numbers have been recaptured in the past (year 2000, I think).
Do we know more details on how this happened? Who worked for this and what did they do to make their efforts successful?
Same with the AC21 provision that allows changing jobs after 180 days. That is a huge accomplishment for whoever worked to make it happen.
Perhaps we can borrow some of their wisdom.

This is going to be the biggest problem because in US, we have a foundation for debt based economy (SSN, credit history, Credit score, credit ratings etc.) If you default the payment, you will have an effect and there will be an impact on future credit applications. There is nothing of this sort in India and the politicians will not allow such things to be setup as well. So essentially back to my point. Banks who lend money are at bigger risk of loosing it. There is nothing that they can do to report on consumer's default or fraud for that matter.
Now per say consumer dump the property or bank attaches it for non payment of loan amount, Bank will be stuck with properties worth 1/4th for those crores that they loaned to people, maintenance will cost them more to prepare it for sale.
In any account, there is a big problem ahead there.

This is not true in most cases. The F1 might be for 2 yrs minimum + 1 year EAD + at least 2 yrs on H1B before the GC process starts. Then its 7+ years...
So overall, we are talking 10+ years to get permanant residency in a majority of cases.

My I-140 was filed in EB2 on the 18th of August and I was heart broken this morning when I came across this memo on IV this morning....I do not have a US Masters and was banking on my Bachelors + 5 years to qualify....My attorney sent me the following reply
"This memo deals with the EB-1 category and the memo does not talk about the EB-2 category. Your I-140 was filed for an EB-2 position and you should not worry about this memo."
Not sure about her comments, what do u guys think?
I was also doing some research online and found that EB-2 "Exceptional Ability" is different from EB-2 with "Advanced Degree Professionals" on . Looks like the 10+ years has always been the criteria for "exceptional ability" and most of us who are looking to substitute our work experience for Advanced degree do not fall into this category.
Please let me know what you guys think?

They have processed millions of applications and GCs already.
I am as frustrated as you are, but I am sure they have a system and management in place. Call it crappy or not.
Their objective is to provide service to the customers, we are their customers, we are giving them exorbitent amount of money as fees. I don't know of any other Organization/Company who provides as crappy service as they do, what would you call their management then ???
