My I-94 extension (for L1B visa) was denied on Oct '08 and I returned in 4 days after they updated Denial status. Reason for denail is "lack of specialized knowledge". I am planning to apply for L1B again in next month (By showing additional certification). Can you please advice me
- is it fine to apply for visa again as it will be more then 6 months after it was denied
- Do I need to show the copy of denial notice during visa interview? Is there any thread available providing suggestions for those applying for visa again after it was denied earlier...

Hi All,
Can any one give me what is the usual time frame given to respond to an RFE for I 140. I have seen in various threads that it is usually 12 weeks.
On Feb 22nd, I got an RFE on my 140 and the letter reached attorney's office on Mar 6th. On the RFE letter, USCIS has asked to repsond by April 7th. That is hardly 6 weeks and 4 weeks from the data I recd the letter. Is this usual?

Guys,
I submitted 485 application for me (primary) and my wife (secondary); now she is changing her job before we can get the receipt for 485 filing....she is on h1B....the new employer will file her H1B transfer..........does anyone see any issue with this????
I think its fine as her H1 status is independent of we filing 485....any thoughts?

My wife who is a derivative applicant for the GC is employed on EAD. She has been advised to go on a pregnancy short term disability leave by the doctor. We live in California and her company provides the short term disability through the California SDI.
Is it ok to claim this while having applied for GC. Is the SDI by any chance considered a public charge? Any help would be appreciated.

If your EAD is based on your husband's I-485 app I don't see any reason as to why that should affect your gc process if you move jobs.
